Rebuilding Lives, Restoring Resilience

The Somali Recovery and Resilience Initiative (SoRRI) is a community-driven organization working to empower vulnerable communities across Somalia through advocacy, service delivery, and long-term development. Founded to address the root causes of poverty and instability, we focus on rebuilding systems, restoring hope, and reinforcing local capacities to lead their own recovery.

Our Mission

We aim to build resilient Somali communities by delivering integrated programs in protection, education, legal aid, infrastructure, and women’s empowerment—ensuring sustainable, inclusive recovery for all.

  • Strengthening access to basic services and justice
  • Protecting the rights of women, children, and displaced persons
  • Promoting grassroots development and local leadership
  • Partnering with local and international actors for collective impact
  • Responding with compassion to emergencies and chronic need

Why We Exist

Somalia is rebuilding from decades of conflict and disaster. Millions remain without access to basic services, while communities struggle with poverty, displacement, and marginalization. SoRRI exists to shift this reality—by working alongside communities to build lasting systems of support, dignity, and resilience.

  • Locally led programs in fragile and hard-to-reach areas
  • Holistic, integrated service delivery across sectors
  • Evidence-based approaches guided by community needs
  • Transparency, accountability, and grassroots engagement
  • Commitment to equity, dignity, and local ownership
